Hello, I'm Rebecca

I’m a business coach. But before that, I was a founder, a CEO, and a franchisor. I built a business from zero and grew it into a seven-figure franchise system. While raising daughters. I juggled it all – breastfeeding during a staff orientation session, writing emails while at the park, and analysing KPIs after the bedtime routine.

I know what it takes to build something. And I know about changing direction, and starting over.

I’ve lived it. That’s the difference.

My Story

I built it. I scaled it. Then I started over.

I’ve been drawn to entrepreneurship since I was a kid. My very first marketing plan was at age 8.

After a brief career in HR, I realised the corporate life was not for me. So I developed a brand new concept for a service business, with my toddler at my feet.

My brand competed against American brands with big budgets. But our unique service mix and strong customer experience landed, and we grew.

By the time my second baby was a toddler, I’d won several business awards – including Ottawa’s Businesswoman of the Year- franchised the business, and scaled to seven figures.

Then COVID happened, and everything stopped almost overnight. We weren’t an essential service. With the business mostly paused and the future genuinely uncertain, I did something unexpected. I went back to school, at age 50, and enrolled in the MBA programme at Durham University Business School.

By June 2021, after a year of trying to hold it together, I made the decision to close. The business that had been my identity for two decades was gone.

But I wasn’t starting from nothing. I was already building what came next.

I relocated to the UK in 2021 and completed my MBA with Distinction the following year.

All of this – the building, the scaling, and the starting over – led to the work I do with entrepreneurs and founders.

MBA Education

MBA with Distinction from Durham University.

At 50, I went back to school. I wanted to add rigour and frameworks to everything I’d learned in 20 years of running and growing a business.

My experience at Durham University Business School, sharpened my analytical thinking and gave me tools I use with clients every single day.

And also, a History Geek

Outside of work, I’m a history geek and a book nerd. I lose hours in museums and bookshops. I love exploring ancient ruins, iconic sites, and neighbourhoods with stories in their walls.

Because my coaching is entirely online, I’ve had the flexibility to work from 16 countries across 4 continents since 2023. My home base is the UK, with regular time in Canada where I have family, including my charming namesake grandson.
